Varsity Head Coach Justin McDowell Head Coach - Varsity
Justin McDowell

Coach McDowell begins his first year leading the Titans’ baseball program. Formerly he was the head coach at Waynedale High School with a career record of 101-44. In five years, his teams won 3 WCAL titles, 3 district titles, 1 regional title, 1 regional runner-up, and were the D3 state runner up in 2016. Nine former players have gone on to play college baseball.

McDowell played baseball collegiately at the College of Wooster where he helped the Scots to the College World Series and national runner up in 2009. He was first team all NCAC 3 times, twice all region, and was an All-American in 2009 when he led the NCAA in wins (13). During his four years at Wooster, the Scots compiled an overall record of 140-38.

After college, McDowell helped coach pitchers at the College of Wooster for two years and was an assistant coach on the Wayne County Legion team. He began his education career in 2012 teaching freshmen history at Waynedale.

Personally, McDowell is married to his wife, Annie, who is the elementary STEAM teacher at Triway. They have a two year old son named Holden. Originally, he grew up in Willard, Ohio, and graduated from there in 2007.

Brandon "BG" Giles

Coach Giles is in his first year at Triway. Previously, he was an assistant with Coach McDowell at Waynedale High School for five years. He excels at working with infielders, catchers, and development in the weight room.

Coach is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology / Sports Medicine, and of Walsh University with a Master's Degree in Education. He currently works for Aultman Orrville Hospital, Wayne College, and The College of Wooster as a Certified Athletic Trainer.

Coach Giles resides in Canton with his wife, Leah, and three children - Sofia, Vincenzo, and Rocco.
Varsity Assistant Aaron Spidell Assistant Coach - Varsity
Aaron Spidell

Coach Spidell is in his first year at Triway. He is a 2020 graduate of the College of Wooster where he played baseball for four years before graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. At Triway, he primarily works with outfielders and hitting.

Coach was all-state in baseball and football at Waynedale High School, where he helped his team to a state runner-up finish in baseball as a senior while playing for Coach McDowell. He currently works for Spidell Funeral Home as an apprentice funeral director.

Coach Spidell resides in Brewster with his wife, Lydia.
JV Head Coach Andrew Marcum Head Coach - JV
Andrew Marcum

Coach Marcum is in his thirteenth year as a coach in the Triway baseball program - seven with the high school and six at 14U. He primarily works with outfielders.

Coach is a graduate of DeVry Univeristy in Columbus with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, and of Malone University with a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He currently works at The J.M. Smucker Company as a developer. He serves as a volunteer statistician for the Triway football and basketball teams, and is a member of the Triway Athletic Booster Club and trustee of Wayne Holmes Baseball League, Inc.

Coach Marcum resides in Wooster with his wife, Jennifer, and daughter Avery.
JV Assistant Chance Lomas Assistant Coach - JV
Chance Lomas

Coach Lomas is in his first year at Triway. He is a 2019 graduate of Triway High School, where he starred on the baseball diamond. He primarily works with infielders.

In high school, Coach was a 4-time 1st Team All-PAC-7, 4-time All-Daily Record, and an Under Armour Preseason All-American in 2015. He currently works at Circle Graphics.

Coach Lomas always knew he wanted to be a baseball coach and is excited to begin that path at his alma mater.
